One of my most favorite pictures ever

Hanging on

I am kind of a hanger-on type person. One basically has to look me right in the eyes and say to me, “I never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever want to hear from you again,” for me to fully go away, because I just don’t go away. I mean, yes, I do move on in life, but for the most part, if you were in my life in a serious way at one point in time, you will remain in my life until the day I die. You may not want to talk to me, you may not return my calls or texts, you may not write me letters, but I do not forget you.

This is one way I fully relate to Jesus. He never leaves you. You may not return His calls or texts, you may not write Him letters and you may forget Him, but He never forgets you.

So keep that in mind if you are ever alone, lonely and wondering if anyone cares. Yes, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, He is with you and He cares. He wants to show you His peace, joy and grace. Let Him. You will not be sorry.

The picture

Yes, the picture. I sent this picture (from the mid 1980s) this morning to the grown daughter of the man in this picture. I have never met her in person, but I stay in touch with her grandmother (his mother) and after sending me a picture of her aunt, her grandmother and herself at her grandmother’s most recent birthday dinner, I began getting to know her a little.

This man was part of my life when I lived at the Torrance Beach (which sits between Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes). With him are my sister and her two children, as well her friend and her son.

Look at all the legs … cracks me up. And my beautiful sister, she looks exactly like my dad at the same ages. Identical. They were visiting me from Arizona for a couple of days and we had great fun at the beach. I think my then boyfriend (in the photo) took us all out for ice cream before or after that picture. One of the best days ever …

P.S.

Look at the lampshade in the picture, lol. Is that because there were three children in my tiny apartment? 🙂
